The pilot and co-pilot of the air tanker that crashed near Redlands, California late Friday, October 3, have been identified by USFA as they pay tribute to them as line of duty deaths.
Pilot Carl Dolbeare, 54, and co-pilot John Attardo, 51, were flying the tanker owned by Minden Air Corp out of Nevada.
The plane, a twin-engine P2-V, contracted to the U.S. Forest Service, was flying to San Bernardino when it went down after firefighting duty in Arizona. The cause of the crash is still to be determined.
