USFA Gets Grant Program Evaluation

Nov. 6, 2003
Office of Inspector General makes recommendations to the Assistance to Firefighter Grant program.
While working to award grants in this third year of the Assistance to Firefighter Grant program, FEMA/USFA has been subject to an assessment evaluation by the Federal Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the Department of Homeland Security.

Although OIG was not overly critical of the approach and application of the program, the report did have some recommendations for USFA.

And although the recommendations were not heavy handed, USFA used rebuttal to the report to suggest OIG might have missed the point on occasion.
