Louisville, Sheriff Tangle Over Tax Money

Aubrey says that Kentucky law allows him to keep 4.25 percent of all the property taxes he collects in Jefferson County — including the $49 million in taxes that residents within the old Louisville city limits will pay this fall for extra services such as full-time fire protection, trash pickup and street lights.
