Detectives are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store, then executed the clerk
Tulsa - Detectives are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store, then executed the clerk. The victim, 30-year-old Paul Silkey of Turley, was newly married with a child on the way.

Police have two good witnesses, security camera pictures of the killer and plenty of people who want to help them catch the killer.

It happened shortly before 1:30 Wednesday morning. The suspect walked in with a bandana over his face and a .38 caliber pistol in his hands. He demanded money and the clerk simply gave it to him.

"The clerk complied 100 percent," said Officer Scott Walton. "The robbery was complete. For whatever reason our robber decides to execute."

30-year-old Paul Silkey was loved by everyone who knew him. He was recently married, and his wife and stepson were expecting a new baby in January.

Over at the firehouse where Silkey was a volunteer, the flag is at half staff and people there are still in shock.

"Kind, big-hearted, loving, he never had a bad word to say about anybody," says Turley Fire Chief Nelson Sager.

Pastor Willie Lewis, who also works for the sheriff's office, is helping counsel the family. He says Paul Silkey was also taking law enforcement classes at a Tulsa Junior College.

"He was very much interested in law enforcement, wanting to go to work for the sheriff's office," Lewis said. "It's a loss to the community and of course, the family."

While investigators hunt for a cold blooded killer, a spokesperson for Git 'N Go says the company isn't sure yet when or if the convenience store will re-open.

Git 'N Go is also working to set up a fund to help the family. If you can help police catch the suspect, call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.

The suspect description is as follows: White male, 5-foot-10, 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue bandana over his face, a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He was armed with a blue steel .38 caliber revolver.
