There is a call out for the New York City Fire Department to cancel its contract with an apparel company to make uniforms for firefighters because the company allegedly uses sweatshop workers. City leaders and union workers gathered at City Hall to demand the cancellation of the $100 million dollar contract.

They say "VF Solution" is reputed to manufacture goods in sweatshops in Latin America and Asia, and has no facilities here in the city.

The fire department has had no comment on the issue.
