Merlin Casey, 66, a volunteer with the Mount Horeb, Wisconsin Fire Department, died Saturday evening while on a house call for an elderly sick woman.

According to Chief Chuck Himsel, Casey was the driver of the ambulance. When he returned to the front seat of the ambulance, he suffered a heart attack.

Casey was a retired art teacher for the Mount Horeb High School. He had volunteered for the Mount Horeb Fire Station in Wisconsin for over 20 years.

The Mount Horeb Fire Station protects 12,000 people in a mostly rural area according to the fire department
