Car Crushed After Tree Falls Onto Highway In New Jersey

Early this morning, a tree fell down onto the highway in Scotch Plains, NJ crashing into a car.

Early this morning, a tree fell down onto the highway in Scotch Plains, NJ crashing into a car. This happened in the eastbound lane of Route 22 and as a result, this route was completely shutdown.

There are a number of businesses and houses close to this highway. The tree simply fell down onto the road. According to the Scotch Plains police department, they are unclear why the tree fell. The driver was driving along this section of Route 22 as the tree fell. That tree then fell directly down onto his vehicle crushing the roof of the car.

Miraculously, Scotch Plains police say the driver did not need medical attention and was not injured. However, as workers are clearing this up, the eastbound lane of Route 22 is shutdown at Harding Lane.
