Two Kentuck, Virginia firefighters were bruised in a tanker accident while in route to a structure fire in Blairs. The tanker went around a curve on State Road 726 in Ringgold and the wheels of the tanker dropped off the shoulder. The load of the tanker had shifted and once the tanker was off the road the driver, Bobby Crumpton, tried to get back on the road. The tanker was thrown into the other lane and flipped over into a nearby field, according to Kentuck Fire Chief Robbie Barker.

The accident occurred approximately three miles from the fire and one mile from the fire station Monday morning.

Bobby Crumpton, who is out of college for the summer and has started a job recently, has volunteered for the Kentuck fire department for three years. He suffered extensive bruises in the accident.

Mike Campbell, who has volunteered for the department for about eight years, works for a manufacturing plant in Danville. Both firefighters were treated and released from the hospital Monday. Chief Barker said, Both are doing well, but are pretty sore.
