BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) _ A fire in a dormitory at Western Kentucky University injured a student and forced dozens to evacuate the building early Sunday, school officials said.

The injured woman was taken to a local hospital and then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., university spokesman Bob Skipper said. It wasn't immediately clear how extensive her injuries were.

Fire officials were investigating to determine the cause of the fire.

About 50 people were in Hugh Poland Hall when the fire started shortly after 4 a.m. on the second floor, Skipper said. He said all those inside had been accounted for. The dormitory holds more than 300 students.

The university, about 110 miles south of Louisville, is just wrapping up its spring session, with final exams scheduled this week.
