    A smoky fire that started in a kitchen left an elderly woman dead in her Bayside, Queens, home yesterday, authorities said.

    Shirley Baumser, 77, was found dead after the blaze swept through her two-story brick home on 208th Street at 11:42 a.m. Police sources said the fire likely started while Baumser was cooking.
