Two Killed in Long Island Inferno

March 21, 2003 -- A woman and a boy died in a fast-moving fire that destroyed their Massapequa, L.I., home, officials said yesterday.

Patricia McCorgray, 55, and Damian Forquet, 12, were found dead huddled together in an upstairs bedroom, Nassau County officials said yesterday. McCorgray was the boy's legal guardian.

Two Nassau County cops discovered the blaze at 10:15 p.m. and tried to kick in the front door of the home, but the fire was too intense, officials said.

They then ran to the rear door and tried to break it down, but failed.
