ROSSFORD, OH -- Your drive into work may have been delayed this morning because of an accident on I-75. That accident injured nearly a dozen emergency workers at an overpass near Lime City road in Rossford.

Police say shortly before 5:00 this morning a white Astro van heading northbound on I-75 lost control on an overpass and flipped over into the median. Rossford Township emergency workers quickly responded and were assisted by Perrysburg Township police and firefighters.

Captain Keith Feeney was one of the first responders. He worked side by side with other emergency workers to extricate the woman and child reportedly in the van. But then, a strange turn of events. "At that time I heard some squealing and then loud crash," said Capt. Feeney.

That crash turned out to be a ford Victoria, which also lost control on the overpass and struck Feeney, 2 other EMS workers and two Perryburg Township police officers. To Feeney's horror, he found himself pinned under the car that struck them. "Next thing I know I was face first down and when I looked the car was sitting on top of my leg," he said.

Feeney, who normally rescues people once he leaves this fire station, found himself, along with other victims being transported to different hospitals. He was lucky enough to survive with only few bruises, but the accident has left him and his co-workers shaken. "Right now we're all sitting her wondering what's going on. We're hurting because you know somebody out there is not going to be back tonight," said Chief Dennis Dauer of the Perrysburg Township police department.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say two Perrysburg Township officers, Alan potter, 38 and Mark Putnam, 53, are still in the hospital. The other 6 victims have been treated and released.

Authorities have still haven't determined the cause of the accident but believe icy road conditions may be a factor.
