The Glenpool Fire Department in Oklahoma responded to a fuel tank explosion Monday night that forced the evacuation of about 150 residents and shut down the local highway until Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighter James Chaney said they found the diesel fuel fire fully involved upon arrival and about 12 fire departments worked together to contain it. He said this is the first time they've responded to such major fuel fire, but they have been prepared for such an event. "We've talked about it for years. You just never know when it's gonna happen," Chaney said.

The explosion occurred at about 9 p.m. Monday night
