Cincinnati--A report is out of a 2:24 AM, two-alarm fire, which occurred at 3427 Vine St.

This is Acting District One Fire Chief Captain George Hornback reporting on a two-alarm fire, which occurred at 3427 Vine St. The fire was reported at 02:24 AM.

While fire units were responding to the address the 911-call center was getting multiple reports of people trapped in the building. Upon arriving fire crews confirmed a working fire in the four- story brick apartment building.

While some crews attacked the fire other units were busy ensuring all occupants were able to get out of the building. There were four people escorted down the ladder truck, which was placed in the rear of the structure. Other tenants were taken out through the interior stairs. The fire was brought under control within 30 to 40 minutes, fire units made an aggressive interior attack on it.

A fire investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire, which is undetermined. The loss was estimated at $80,000. The Red Cross is assisting families that will not be able to return to their apartments.

There were 45 fire personnel at this incident. Fire companies are still on the scene at this time cleaning up.
