Santa Pulls Driver From Fiery Wreck in Texas

Dec. 22, 2011

Santa came to the rescue Tuesday in Dallas County, pulling a man from a burning car before it exploded.

Good Samaritan Brad Luddeke was dressed as Santa Claus, delivering packages to families in need when he approached a two-car wreck at an intersection in Coppell, according to WFAA-TV

The man sprang into action, pulling Michael Walker out of his vehicle and then directed traffic around the wreck.

Luddeke's son, Jordan, died in a wreck seven years ago.

"It was unbelievable," he told the news station. "It was unreal. I think (he) had a hand in it.

Walker said that while he was first confused after coming face-to-face with Santa, he is extremely grateful.

"The first thing I see is Santa running toward my vehicle yelling, 'Are you okay?' And I'm thinking, 'Why is Santa asking if I'm okay?' "
