ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- A small plane flying through stormy weather crashed into a home Monday, killing two people aboard the aircraft, officials said.

The Piper PA-28 went down at 2:32 p.m., officials said. The victims were a male and a female; there were no immediate identifications.

It was not known whether Monday's heavy rain and wind contributed to the crash.

A fire caused by the crash was extinguished in minutes, city spokesman John Nicoletti said. The house's garage sustained the most damage. No one was in the home at the time.

Debris from the crash was found around nearby houses, authorities said. A piece of the plane was found hanging in a tree several blocks away.
