Blaze Kills 5 in New York Apartment Building

An early morning fire killed five people, including a child, at an apartment complex Tuesday.

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) -- An early morning fire killed five people, including a child, at an apartment complex Tuesday, police said.

The blaze was spotted by a sheriff's deputy, said Police Chief Fred Capozzi.

The victims were an older couple in one apartment and three others, including the child, in the second apartment. The cause of the fire in the 70-apartment complex was being investigated.

Seneca Falls is 50 miles west of Syracuse.
