Man Seriously Injured by Driver on Cell Phone

AYER -- Days away from retirement from a post with the Ayer Housing Authority, Peter K. Johnston, 74, was badly injured at 6:35 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a motor vehicle as he was about to enter the Central Fire Station on Washington Street.
