(Ansonia-WTNH, Jan. 13, 2003 10:15 PM) -- Ansonia police are looking for the two suspects who allegedly took off from an accident scene after slamming a stolen car into a fire engine. That fire engine was actually responding to another accident scene.

The accident happened at Clifton and Division Streets.

It happened around 6:40 p.m. The vehicle was severely damaged in the accident, but the fire truck was not.

"That firetruck sustained very minor damage and there were no injuries, just slight shakiness, nervousness. The Ansonia police department are investigating it now," says Chief Robert Caruso.

The two suspects took off on foot following the crash. A police canine unit was brought to the scene, but the heavy winds blew the scent of the suspects away from the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ansonia police at (203) 735-1885.
