Firefighter Still In A Coma After Fall

A veteran of The San Francisco Fire Department is listed in critical but stable condition at San Francisco General Hospital after suffering from a serious head injury sustained after she fell off the back of a fire truck Wednesday evening.
Update: A San Francisco firefighter is still in a coma after she fell off a moving truck responding to a call last Wednesday night, according to fire department officials.

A veteran of The San Francisco Fire Department is listed in critical but stable condition at San Francisco General Hospital after suffering from a serious head injury sustained after she fell off the back of a fire truck Wednesday evening.

Forty-year-old Melinda Ohler, who has been with the department since 1989, was responding to a false alarm at San Francisco International Airport. According to the department, Ohler has undergone two surgeries and her family has been notified and gave permission for her name to be released earlier this afternoon.

The San Francisco Fire and Police Departments, as well as the Safety and Healthcare Administration are investigating the incident.
