Rural Fire Departments Face Manpower Shortages

When the Indiana General Assembly convenes Tuesday, one bill that could be introduced will be an attempt to help shore up declining numbers at volunteer fire departments. Volunteer firefighter and State Representative Bill Ruppel wants to give these firemen a state income tax credit as an incentive to keep them in volunteer firehouses.
