Michigan Firefighter, Disabled Man Injured in Blaze

A disabled man and a Novi firefighter were injured Tuesday night in a house fire on Wintergreen, near 10 Mile and Beck roads.

A disabled man and a Novi firefighter were injured Tuesday night in a house fire on Wintergreen, near 10 Mile and Beck roads.

Fire crews got to the scene in just over five minutes and found the home engulfed in flames shortly after 8 p.m. They got the man out, and he was taken to the University of Michigan Burn Center in Ann Arbor, the Novi Fire Department said. Information on his condition was not available.

The firefighter was being treated at Providence Park Hospital for heat exhaustion.

The two-story home appeared to be a complete loss, the department said. The cause of the fire was under investigation by the Novi Fire Department and Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The Lyon Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
