Fire officials say no one was hurt in the fire and the cause is under investigation.

An early morning wake-up call for residents in one southwest Detroit neighborhood -- as fire races through a nearby vacant commercial building.

The blaze broke out after 4 a.m. in the 9000 block of Thaddeus Street, near I-75 and Dearborn Street, said Detroit fire officials.

Fire officials on the scene tell the Free Press no one was hurt in the fire and the cause is under investigation.

DTE crews were on the scene -- as firefighters sprayed down power poles and lines running along the building to keep them from catching fire.

Firefighters had the fire under control as of 6:30, and were still on the scene dousing hot spots.
