Calif. Hazmat Crew Sent to Fiberglass Plant After Fire

A Bakersfield hazmat team was sent to a fiberglass tank manufacturing plant to check out hazardous chemicals after a fire at the facility.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.

A manufacturing facility that uses hazardous chemicals caught fire late Thursday night.

Firefighters and hazmat crews were sent to the 2600 block of Pegasus Drive to a fiberglass tank manufacturing plant just after 9:30 p.m.

Officials said that the equipment caught fire inside the facility and the blaze had spread to hazardous chemicals.

Six employees were on site at the time, but they were all able to get out safely.

The fire is still under investigation and authorities are still trying to determine which hazardous chemicals were involved in the blaze.
