Neb. Engine Ends Police Pursuit of Shooting Suspect

A police pursuit of a man following a shooting last Thursday came to a sudden end when the suspect was struck by an Omaha fire engine.

The collision occurred just blocks away from the scene of the shooting as the fire crew hit the vehicle head-on, according to KETV.

A witness said the car being chased by officers pulled in from of the engine and was "shoved."

Officials say the suspect -- who was driving a stolen car -- sustained critical injuries.

None of the firefighters involved in the crash were injured.
