N.Y. Firefighter's Foot Run Over at Incident

A South Line volunteer firefighter in Cheektowaga suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a vehicle while directing traffic Tuesday night.

Robert Bliss, 63, was taken to Sisters Hospital St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga, where he was treated for bruises after a vehicle ran over his foot, according to The Buffalo News.

Firefighters had responded to a call of downed utility lines.

"The vehicle came too close to him and ran over his foot and knocked him down," an officer told reporters.

No charges were issued against the driver.
