ARVADA, Colo. --

Firefighters were dealing with a hazardous-materials incident where foaming liquid leaked from a tractor-trailer at an Arvada truck stop on Wednesday morning.

Arvada fire spokesman Scott Pribble said firefighters responded about 9:50 a.m. after a big-rig driver called 911 to report a foaming liquid leaking from his truck as he filled up at the Travel America Truck Stop at 12151 W. 44th Ave.

Hazmat crews cordoned off a 300-foot area around the truck, but the rest of the truck stop, including the restaurant, remained open, Pribble said.

The truck's manifest said the trailer was hauling 3,600 gallons of corrosive liquid, he said

Firefighters donned protective suits before opening the trailer doors.
