Large Propane Truck Rolls Over in Maine

The rollover of an 18-wheel truck hauling propane on Route 9 in Beddington challenged responders.

Feb. 01--BEDDINGTON, Maine -- The rollover of an 18-wheel truck hauling propane on Route 9 in Beddington has responders on the scene.

Only minor injuries were reported by the Washington County Sheriff's Department. While there was a fire at the scene, it did not involve propane.

The accident happened at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, on Route 9, about 1.5 miles east of route 193.

Officials with Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. reported that about 175 customers in Beddington, Cherryfield and Devereaux Township are expected to be without power until about 8 p.m. tonight.

Bangor Hydro crews are waiting for the propane to be removed from the scene before they begin replacing several utility poles that were knocked down.
