Feb. 02--KELLER -- A woman in her early 20s was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and two other women were treated at North Hills Hospital after a fire that severely damaged their residence early Thursday.

Their conditions were unknown, but all three women were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, said Keller Fire Chief Dan Gaumont. One of the women was initially going to John Peter Smith Hospital but was diverted to Parkland, Gaumont said.

The damage to the residence, located in the 1600 block of Overcup Lane, was estimated at more than $100,000, Gaumont said. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Firefighters were alerted to the fire about 12:40 a.m. by an alarm company and later received a call from one of the occupants confirming the fire at their residence, Gaumont said.

The three women, a grandmother, daughter and granddaughter, all evacuated the residence and were at a neighbor's house when firefighters arrived, Gaumont said.

At least three of the four family pets, two cats and two dogs, were found dead, and the fourth could not be located, Gaumont said.

"It was dark and debris was falling down from the ceiling," Gaumont said. "We believe that all four pets are deceased."
