VACAVILLE, Calif. -- While working an emergency call Thursday morning, a firefighter with the Vacaville Fire Department spotted some of his property that had been stolen from him a week earlier.

The firefighter was responding to a medical emergency call at a mobile home on Sunset Drive in Vacaville when he noticed items that belonged to him, according to a news release.

The firefighter's home was burglarized a week earlier. Among the things taken were a washer and dryer and tools issued to him by the fire department.

Police arrived at the mobile home and the firefighter was able to identify more than $2,300 worth of property stolen from him.

Officers later tracked down one of the residents of the mobile home, 47-year-old Ricky Mankini. More stolen property was found in Mankini's car.

Mankini was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for possession of stolen property.
