The commercial starring Clint Eastwood is about Detroit and Chrysler making a comeback.

Two California battalion chiefs got a few seconds of fame in a Super Bowl commercial starring Clint Eastwood.

Petaluma Fire Department Battalion Chiefs Jeff Schach and Phil Sutsos just happened to be the only ones in the station when the film crew came knocking on Jan. 11, they told The San Francisco Chronicle.

They were told it was for a Dodge commercial, and the crew hinted it may be for the Super Bowl.

Although the "Halftime in America" commercial touts the return of Detroit and Chrysler, the California firefighters can be seen in front of their engine a minute into the segment.

In their station, tradition dictates that when a firefighter’s name or face appears in the media, they buy ice cream for co-workers.

“That’s a whole different league,” Schach, 38, of Rohnert Park told reporters. “We’re getting requests for T-bone steak and sushi.”

Schach, who also owns a frozen yogurt shop with his wife, said they might just let the firefighters loose in the store to fulfill the tradition.

Schach and Sutsos, each received $100 for being in the ad. They gave the money to the fire department’s donation fund.
