Suspected Arson Fire Destroys Detroit Pizzeria

The Detroit Fire Department's Arson Unit will be investigating a fire that destroyed a pizzeria early today on the city's west side.

Feb. 09--The Detroit Fire Department's Arson Unit will be investigating a fire that destroyed a pizzeria early today on the city's west side.

The fire at Papa's Pizza, 16501 Grand River, was reported at 4:02 a.m., Detroit Fire Department Arson Unit Captain Dennis Richardson said.

The freestanding building near Grand River and the Southfield Freeway collapsed during the blaze, Richardson said. No one was injured, and fire crews were still on the scene at 6 a.m.
