Feb. 12--A teen girl was found dead in her bed today after a fire destroyed her house in Foristell, officials said.
New Melle Fire Chief Rick Massey said it appeared the girl was wheelchair bound. Her two brothers and a family friend, who were also home, made it out to safety.
Two of those who escaped were transported to the hospital with injuries. Massey said at least one of them suffered some burns.
Firefighters received call about the fire on the 1500 block Meinershagen Road around 12:15 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene, the house was "fully involved," Massey said.
Officials have not yet released the victim's name.
The Missouri State Fire Marshall's Office and St. Charles County sheriff's office are investigating, Massey said.
