Feb. 19--Fire investigators are still at the scene of an overnight blaze at the Rowan Animal Clinic that reportedly left several animals dead.

Rowan officials said they received a call around 1:30 a.m. today about a fire at the clinic on Statesville Boulevard in Salisbury.

News14 Carolina is reporting that fire officials say they were unable to rescue up to 10 small dogs that may have been inside the building.

Further details about the fire were not immediately available. As of 10:30 a.m., crews from the Franklin Fire Department, Rowan Fire Marshal's office were among the agencies still looking into the fire.

According to the company's website, the Rowan Animal Clinic first opened in 1977.
