Three N.J. Firefighters Hospitalized After Explosions at Blaze

Three Camden firefighters were injured following a series of explosions while battling a blaze at a rowhome Wednesday morning.

The firefighters were transported to Cooper University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after escaping the home, according to The Courier-Post.

Two of the firefighters were released as of Wednesday night.

Crews responded to the fire in the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue around 10:45 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the chimney, Fire Chief Michael Harper told the newspaper.

Some of them were forced to break through windows to escape.

A firefighter briefly went missing but was accounted for after a Mayday was transmitted.

The cause of the fire and the explosions is currently under investigation.
