Three Camden firefighters were injured following a series of explosions while battling a blaze at a rowhome Wednesday morning.
The firefighters were transported to Cooper University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after escaping the home, according to The Courier-Post.
Two of the firefighters were released as of Wednesday night.
Crews responded to the fire in the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue around 10:45 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the chimney, Fire Chief Michael Harper told the newspaper.
Conditions appeared calm inside the structure, but after firefighters entered the basement, a thick cloud of smoke engulfed them and a series of three explosions occurred.
Some of them were forced to break through windows to escape.
A firefighter briefly went missing but was accounted for after a Mayday was transmitted.
The cause of the fire and the explosions is currently under investigation.
