Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Wis. River

A small plane trying to make an emergency landing Monday on Interstate 43 wound up in the Mukwonago River near the Rochester St. area.

March 05--MUKWONAGO -- A small plane trying to make an emergency landing Monday on Interstate 43 wound up in the Mukwonago River near the Rochester St. area, Waukesha County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Pederson said.

The pilot was the only person on board, Pederson said.

Pederson said the pilot was hurt but the injuries were not life-threatening.

Pederson said Mukwonago authorities were taking the lead on responding to the incident.

The Mukwonago Police Department referred calls to the Fire Department, which was still on the scene Monday afternoon.

No further details were immediately available.
