March 05-- Mayor Dewey Bartlett announced a mutual aid agreement between the city and Broken Arrow that will save some east Tulsa residents $1,000 on fire insurance.
The agreement also will save Tulsa $1 million due to not having to build a fire station in the deficient area around 46th Street and 145th East Ave.
Tulsa has no fire station within five miles of that area.
The agreement gives both fire departments the authority to respond to fires and medical emergencies across jurisdictional areas that border the two cities.
