Atlanta firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at a downtown restaurant Thursday morning.
Crews responded to Michon's Smokehouse at 140 Mitchell Street around 9:15 a.m. after receiving reports of the fire, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
By 10 a.m., a defensive strategy was used due to damage to the structure, Capt. Jolyon Bundrige told the newspaper.
Firefighters had the blaze contained for the most part by 11 a.m. as hot spots were being doused inside the structure.
The restaurant's executive chef said that he and two other employees fled the structure and exited the building after the fire broke out.
Michon's just opened two weeks ago and a grand opening was planned for March 23.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
