March 20--EVERETT, Wash. -- A Boeing worker was seriously injured when he became trapped between the wing flaps and spoiler of a 747 jumbo jet Monday night.

The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. at the aircraft manufacturer's Everett plant.

Everett Fire Department spokesperson Rick Robinson said Boeing rescuers had to extricate the unidentified employee from the wing.

"The man had been pinned between the spoiler and flap/wing assembly on a 747 aircraft," Robinson said.

"Boeing Fire Department crews removed the worker and he was transported by Everett paramedics to Providence Everett Medical Center."

The man's condition and the cause of the accident were not immediately known.

The accident comes after a February 3 incident where a Boeing worker in Everett was pinned under a 787 being moved from one side of the field to the other. He suffered serious injuries to his legs.
