Eleven FDNY firefighters suffered minor injuries during a fire in Upper Manhattan on Friday.

Ten were transported for treatment, while another refused, according to WNYW.com.

More than 155 firefighters responded to the blaze in the two-story house that had been divided into multiple apartments, the station reported.

Residents who were home at the time say they heard what sounded like fireworks and then saw sparks shooting outside their windows. Investigators believe a gas leak in a manhole may have started the fire.

“It was very dangerous. It was advanced fires on multiple floors,” Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Saccente told reporters. “But the guys did a fantastic job.”

It was reported at 2:51 a.m. and brought under control by 4:23 a.m. Friday.
