AUGUSTA, Wis. -- A Fall Creek firefighter was injured Tuesday evening when a tree fell on him as he battled a field fire along South Rodell Road in the town of Lincoln, west of Augusta.
The unidentified firefighter was taken by Eau Claire ambulance from the scene after a tree 4 to 6 inches in diameter fell on him at about 5:30 p.m. His injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening, said Fall Creek fire Chief Bob Dewitz.
Fire crews responded to the fire at 4 p.m., which appeared to be a flare-up from a previous fire, Dewitz said.
