L.A. Firefighters Injured in Crash With Trash Truck

At least two firefighters were hospitalized with serious injuries after their ambulance was involved in a crash.

At least two Los Angeles firefighters were hospitalized with serious injuries after their ambulance collided with a trash truck Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Soto Street and Whitter Boulevard in Boyle Heights, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Fire department spokesman Matt Spence told the newspaper that the cause of the crash and the nature of the call the firefighters were responding to wasn't immediately known.

Officials did say that the ambulance was responding to an emergency call which required the unit to have its lights and sirens activated.
