April 27--Firefighters revived two unconscious dogs after finding them in a house fire in northeast Albuquerque this morning.

Albuquerque fire crews arrived at the house in the 1800 block of Sandler Ct. NE at about 8:30 a.m., according to AFD spokeswoman Melissa Romero. The fire was contained to the living room within nine minutes, and the family had self-evacuated before officials arrived.

Firefighters found two dogs still in the home, however, unconscious and not breathing, Romero said. They brought the pets outside quickly and revived them with oxygen.

None of the family members were injured, and the dogs were taken to a vet for evaluation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
