A 79-year-old woman declined to be taken to a hospital after being pulled from a burning building in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Friday evening, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the 1000 block of North Lawndale Avenue just before 8 p.m. and found a fire that had started in the basement of a two-story brick residence.

The Cook County Assessor's website shows a two-flat style brick building at the address of the fire.

The woman, who was in a wheelchair, was brought out of the home by firefighters, but declined to be taken to a local hospital, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and no one else was found in the home, according to the Fire Department.
