ACTON, Calif. -- A brush fire that burned 126 acres in Acton on Tuesday -- destroying several structures and prompting evacuations -- has been fully contained, fire officials said.
The wind-fueled fire broke out around 4:00 p.m. in the area of Soledad Canyon Road, just south of Crown Valley Road.
Nearly 400 firefighters from Los Angeles County, the city of Los Angeles and the U.S. Forest Service battled the blaze, aided by five helicopters.
All the active fire has been knocked down, according to Capt. Mark Savage of the L.A. County Fire Department.
Crews planned to work through the night to keep an eye out for possible hot spots.
No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians.
The fire burned close to a mobile home park, authorities said.
One mobile home, an out building, two vehicles, and two sheds were gutted in the blaze.
Authorities evacuated 30 homes as a precaution.
An evacuation center was set up at High Desert Middle School at 3620 Antelope Woods Drive.
The fire was initially fueled by winds of 12 to 15 mph, with occasional gusts to 35 mph.
By Tuesday evening, the winds had decreased, but relative humidity remained in the single digits.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
