Grenade Forces California Fire Station to Evacuate

San Bernardino County Fire Station #22 along with the surrounding area was evacuated on May 3 when a hand grenade was brought in by a local resident.

San Bernardino County Fire Station #22 along with the surrounding area was evacuated May 3, when a hand grenade was brought in by a local Spring Valley Lake resident.

The evacuations closed portions of Fish Hatchery and Jacaranda Roads along with sections of the SVL golf course.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was called out and determined that the grenade was inert and no threat of explosion.
