A mechanic driving a Fort Wayne fire truck downtown crashed into a pole holding a traffic light, slamming the fire truck onto a student-driver vehicle Tuesday.
The crash occurred at 1:33 p.m. when the mechanic took the corner too close as he turned south on Calhoun Street from West Jefferson Boulevard, according to a Fort Wayne police report.
The fire truck hit a pole and it fell on top of the car being driven by a student driver, who was at the light at Calhoun Street.
Police said no one was injured during the crash.
