A Facebook comment about an EMS call has led to the resignation of a Mississippi firefighter.
Columbus Firefighter Brad Alexander resigned, and two other firefighters and a police officer face disciplinary action after indicating they "liked" the post, according to The Dispatch.
Alexander reportedly posted a statement about the whereabouts of a mother after a two-year-old was hit by a car, the paper reported.
The 12-year veteran with the department took the post down, and left an apology on his Facebook page.
"Hello all, I made a very poor decision on making a comment here the other day. Please let me apologize for my disrespect and stupidity. To all my co-workers who this reflected on, I am deeply sorry. Also to all the citizens I swore to serve. Please allow me to earn your trust again."
Alexander also took the time to praise his colleagues, the paper reported.
"...The citizens of Columbus should never question the Fire Department's ability, it's the best in the state."
