MANASSAS, Va. -- Fire officials say 80 units were heavily damaged or destroyed in a Sunday night fire at the Manassas Stor-All self-storage facility at 7909 Sudley Road.
The fire, dispatched at 11:16 p.m., filled the air with thick smoke and closed northbound Sudley Road for hours, said Prince William fire and rescue Battalion Chief Curtis Brodie.
Fire crews from Prince William, Manassas, Fairfax, Fauquier and Loudoun battled the blaze into early Monday. There were no injuries.
Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused the blaze. The damaged units have been posted as unsafe structures by building inspectors.
