Six people were injured, including two toddlers, in a multiple-vehicle crash in the Bronzeville neighborhood Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
A minivan collided with a vintage Trans Am in the 4300 block of South Michigan Avenue about 10:45 a.m., resulting in five people, including two toddlers, suffering serious-to-critical injuries and a sixth person suffering fair-to-serious injuries, according to the Fire Department's media office.
Several people were pinned into the vehicles and had to be extricated by firefighters before being taken to local hospitals, according to the Fire Department.
Fire officials called an Emergency Medical Services Plan 1 for the crash, sending six ambulances to the scene.
Police had been notified of the accident, but had no details immediately available.
